Two-Day National Seminar on “Protection of Women’s Rights: Issues & Challenges”

SRM School of Law is organizing a Two-Day National Seminar on 6th and 7th October, 2016 on “Protection of Women’s Rights: Issues & Challenges”.   The role of women in 21st century is more challenging because of liberalization and globalization followed by the impact of science and technology.  Hence modern society opens up the voices of women on different issues.   The themes covered in the Seminar are very interesting as well as innovative like ‘technological implications and role of law in protecting women’s right, and the present challenges in it.’

Cyber space, surrogacy, personal laws, rights over reproductive and sexual choices, role of judiciary, temple entry rights, trafficking in women are some of the current issues which are included as sub-themes.  The technical sessions are to provide a diverse platform for presentations and critical discussions on the women’s rights.

Experts who are participating in this Seminar are from Legal fraternity including academicians from Law and other disciplines besides students from all over India. Selected papers presented in this National Seminar are being published in the form of an edited book.
