Research Day Celebrated at SRM University

Mahindra Baja SAEINDIA 2016 Concludes Successfully

The 9th edition of the Mahindra BAJA SAEINDIA concluded on February 21, 2016 at Pithampur Indore. A total of 8000 students from different engineering colleges took part this year, and 395 teams were formed out of which 179 reached the finale. However, only 129 teams could make it to the Endurance round. The second edition of eBAJA, in which students build an electric vehicle, saw participation from 9 teams and was held on February 20 at the NATRiP facility at Pitampura near Indore.

SRM Students Win ET Quiz City Round

Siddhanth and Abijit from SRM University emerged triumphant in the Chennai round of the ET in Campus Quiz 2016 held at the VIT University, Chennai Campus, on Thursday. The ETiC Quiz, conducted by The Times Group in association with the VIT University's Chennai Campus, is a business quiz with emphasis on general knowledge. Six qualifying teams, selected from over 175 in the preliminary round, went on to compete with one another in the Chennai finals.

Ten Indian Teams to Participate in Shell Eco Marathon 2016

The Shell Eco-Marathon 2016 will see participation from ten Indian institutions. The event will be held in Manila, Philippines from 3-6 March, 2016. Ten teams from India’s leading technological institutes will be participating in the challenge alongside students from 17 other countries across Asia. 

Sunil Munjal Conferred with Honorary Doctorate

During a glittering ceremony at its Kattankulathur Campus, SRM University conferred the Doctorate of Literature (Honoris Causa) on Sunil Munjal, joint MD of Hero Moto Corp, the world's largest motorcycle manufacturing company. He was honoured with the degree for his contribution to education, business and humanity. 

SRM University Scholarship Seminar held in Jessore, Bangladesh

A seminar on SRM University Scholarship 2016 was held at Muslim AID Polytechnic Institute, Jessore on 15 February 2016. 

Suresh Anand Mani, Business Development Manager of SRM University addressed the function as the chief guest. Principal of the college, Professor for Engineering, Arif Noor, ex-journalist and SMTC adviser, Mosiul Azam, CEO of SMTC, Sonia Rahman attended the function as the special guests. 

Equip Youth with Skills that Suit Industry

India has most number of young population, which is a great asset, said Hero Moto Corp Ltd joint managing director and Hero Corporate Service Ltd chairman Sunil Kant Munjal.

He was speaking at a special convocation programme organised by SRM University at Kattankulathur near Chennai on Saturday, where he received honorary degree of Doctor of Literature (D Litt).

While we have had notable educators and educationists in India, enormous challenges remain in the realm of education, said Sunil Kant Munjal, Joint Managing Director of Hero Moto Corp, at SRM University.

“Our reach is not enough. We have to hone in on the realities of what is around us” he said.

“We need to produce thousands of new leaders every year, not just in the sciences and technology but also in the liberal arts,” he said.
