SRM University organises hackathon

IT Association, SRM University, Chennai, will present SRM Hackathon, a two-day nationwide event on its premises from October 3. SRM Hackathon challenges young developers to use their coding prowess to solve some intriguing real life problems ranging from the military to journalism to healthcare, said a university release. Meet the heroes who are saving Bengaluru’s lakes

Safeer Usman and Gopinath Anandan, who were classmates at SRM University in Chennai, were always passionate about innovation. This led them to be a part of their Formula racing team in college.  In spite of sharing this passion, they went their separate ways after college.

Safeer took up a business course in Imperial College London, while Gopinath started a venture in the electronics and hardware development space.

But the need to start up brought the duo back together in 2014. However, their opportunity to start up came in as a surprise.

Amaravati will be constructed by 2018, says Narayana

Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development P. Narayana on Saturday said construction of the capital city at Amaravati would be completed by 2018. Plots to the farmers who gave their land for pooling would be given away on lottery basis in October and November.

Speaking at a workshop on ‘Mana Amaravati ‘here, he said Rs. 5 lakh crore was required to build a world-class capital city.

SRM University Silver Jubilee Alumni Reunion

The Silver Jubilee reunion of the 1987-91 batch of SRM Engineering College alumni was conducted in a gala gathering at the SRM University Auditorium on 13.8.2016. The alumni and the University authorities planned for over a year for the event’s success. The Chancellor of SRM University, the Registrar and the Pro Vice Chancellor graced the occasion. Also present were the Director of Alumni Affairs, current and former HODs and faculty members who had taught the alumni.

Development Process to start in Amaravati

The development process will soon start in the new capital of Amaravati with the allocation of land to various institutions. The CRDA will allot 25 acres for a Bio-diversity Museum and Biodiversity Experimental Park in Sakhamuru village in the Amaravati capital region. It is also planning to establish an Amaravati heritage conservation town in the new capital.

SRM Varsity Unveils its Sixth Race Car

Chennai: SRM University's Formula racing team, 'Team Camber Racing' unveiled their new race car, 'CR 16 - German edition' in Chennai on Saturday.

The car will take part in the Formula student race event to be held in Hockenheim ring at Germany in August.
